What makes the Sargasso Sea unique among all ocean regions?

The only sea with no coastline is bounded entirely by ocean currents and filled with floating golden seaweed.

The answer

The Sargasso Sea, located within the North Atlantic subtropical gyre, is the only sea on Earth without a land boundary, defined instead by four encircling ocean currents. It is named for the vast mats of free-floating Sargassum seaweed that accumulate on its surface, creating a unique pelagic ecosystem that supports over 120 species of fish, 120 species of invertebrates, and is the sole breeding ground for both American and European eels, which migrate thousands of kilometers to spawn there. The Sargasso Sea is also remarkably clear, with visibility reaching 60 meters, making it among the most transparent waters in the Atlantic. Despite its ecological importance, it lacks comprehensive international legal protection.
